Patna: Taking cognizance of a writ petition filed against construction of 33KV electric grid station in the vicinity of a densely populated residential locality, the Patna high court on Wednesday sought reply from state govt’s housing board and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (SBPDCL).
A single bench of Justice Ajit Kumar, while hearing a writ petition of advocate Shadwal Harsh, passed this order.
Harsh alleged that the SBPDCL was constructing an electric sub station (grid) in Hanuman Nagar without ensuring compliance of basic safety measures. He also stated that the land where the electric sub station is coming up is earmarked for a shopping area and the construction is also not in accordance with master plan 2031 of state capital.
The court directed the housing board to furnish records to show how the land was allocated for construction of a 33KV electric sub station. Justice Kumar directed the power distribution company to adhere to all safety rules during construction of the power sub station.
This matter will be heard after two weeks.
